My husband and I stopped into District Bar and Grill in Rockford before a show, hoping for a nice dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. Staff were openly arguing — servers and bartenders going back and forth about who was closing the bar that night — which made the whole place feel chaotic and unprofessional. It only got worse from there. I ordered a martini, and it came out completely warm and honestly undrinkable. My husband ordered a beer and was served something different than what he was told he was getting. At that point, we had lost confidence in the experience altogether. We paid for our full drinks, left them sitting on the table untouched, and walked out. That says everything. We came in excited for a fun night out and left disappointed and frustrated. Would not recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our visit. The food was the standout, clearly prepared with skill and care. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. From appetizers to dessert, nothing disappointed. The whole team seemed genuinely happy to help. The lighting and decor set a lovely, relaxing mood. It's excellent value for everything you receive. The warmth and professionalism of the staff elevated the whole evening. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The staff made us feel welcome and well looked after throughout. The atmosphere was cozy, clean, and inviting. We left thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.

Honestly didn't expect much from how unassuming the place looks but inside it's lovely. Warm, cosy, properly welcoming. The food was a proper surprise — generous, well cooked, beautifully presented without trying too hard. Server was a sweetheart. Bill was very fair. Don't judge by the front, basically. New favourite spot quietly confirmed.

The **fried ravioli** is an absolute must-try—crispy on the outside, perfectly cheesy on the inside, and served with a delicious marinara sauce. Paired with an ice-cold **Corona**, it was the perfect combo! The menu has so many great options, but this appetizer stole the show for me. What really sets District apart is the **rock and roll vibe**. The **"Wall of Fame"** in the back is incredible—covered with signed guitars and photos from diverse bands that have played here. It’s such a cool touch that adds personality and history to the place. You can tell this spot has real love for music and good times. The service was friendly, the drinks were cold, and the energy was just right—whether you're stopping by for happy hour, dinner, or late-night fun. **Highly recommend** District Bar and Grill for great food, great drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere. Food definitely step up from the first time I went there years ago. And the mac n cheese variety is super yummy!! Lots of chicken options, too. Fully stocked bar with beer on tap including Guinness. Went in about lunch time on a Saturday. The place was not very busy, but the service was slow and the bartender seemed annoyed when asked to change the TV station (it had been frozen the entire time we were there until we asked her to change it). The prices were a bit shocking on the beer. $8 for a 20oz. Served in plastic cups. The food prices were not horrible for the mac n cheese but the southwest egg rolls were $13 for 3. Price of going to a bar in the city. 4 beers, 2 appetizers, 1 entree was $82. Plus tip and tax.
